I just want to say thank you so much to everyone reading I can't believe my blog is been viewed by over 5,000 people from all over the world that is just over-whelming.
I also want to apologise for the lack of posts I've been focusing my new years resolutions to take more time to myself etc.
Anyway on to todays post, over the weekend I got struck down by the green eyed monster (see below;)), and needless to say it put a bit of a dampener on my mood!

The visual above is purely for your entertainment obviously, although it does seem like quite a realistic interpretation of one if such a thing did walk the earth.
So back to my point, on trolling through the internet doing some research, I came across the usual array of fabulous people, with what seem to be fabulous faces, hair, bodies, houses, lives, you get the picture! You name it, they've got it! Doesn't that sometimes just get under your skin? Do you think why not me? Why can't I have a Ferrari? a mansion? A flawless partner or a six figure wage slip at the end of the month.
Well it got to me and I was a little taken back because usually I would not think twice about any of these people or their lives mainly I think due to the fact that we are constantly bombarded with these images of "perfect people with perfect lives" thus we become immune to them, but for some reason I became slightly jealous.Actually if I'm been honest I was more like insanely jealous! This made me feel like someone had knocked some of the positive energy out of my body and I had to figure out how to get it back and stop this from happening again!
Wikipedia describes Envy as;
Envy (from Latin invidia) is an emotion which "occurs when a person lacks another's superior quality, achievement, or possession and either desires it or wishes that the other lacked it".[1]
Bertrand Russell said that envy was one of the most potent causes of unhappiness.[2]
Not only is the envious person rendered unhappy by his envy, but they also wish to inflict misfortune on others. Although envy is generally seen as something negative, Russell also believed that envy was a driving force behind the movement towards democracy and must be endured to achieve a more just social system.[3] However, psychologists have recently suggested that there may be two types of envy: malicious envy and benign envy—benign envy being proposed as a type of positive motivational force.[4][5]
No it isn't! It is only a part of you if you let it be and this is what I had to remind myself!
Now as we all know whatever you resist, persists! So if you feel it welling up inside its impossible to get rid of by ignoring it alone but what will wipe out those feelings is if we turn our focus on our on individual lives and what wonderful things they are full off! Maybe you have an amazing family and great relationships with your parents kids or siblings, maybe you have wonderful friends, a job you love, a house of your own, a nice car, delicious food in your fridge.
Once again I need reminded we are not in competition with anyone but ourselves, thats such a great relief think about it.................you are under no pressure to compete with anyone in this world ..........................................when it finally sinks in its exhilarating, I really do want us all to make it and have the best lives available to us individually.
What I've learnt The most helpful thing you can do in the face of jealously is to keep a positive attitude, there is always a blessing in your life that someone else does not have and we need to be grateful for it as well as all the other blessings we possess. Vow to think about this the next time jealously attacks, in this way we' l all get through this emotion quickly and keep a high level energy and positive attitude.
Hope you take some inspiration from this
Loves Annie xxx
